Athletic Event Worker

Description:

 

I am looking for workers to fill positions at athletic events such as ticket takers, scoreboard operators, concession workers, ball retrievers (for soccer and volleyball), etc. Working an event includes set-up and take-down of the event, so each event you would get approximately 4 hours. If you need work-study hours, please come see me in the Connor Convocation Center. My office is located to the right of the lobby (coming in) and in the back right corner.  We will have games/matches in between semesters as well over the winter break if interested.


Athletic Communications Student Assistant

Description:

 

* Helps director of athletic communication prepare post game recaps and feature stores. * Helps update the TMU athletic website. * Compile game statistics for selected athletic events. * Handle public address and webcast broadcast for selected events.


Admissions Ambassador

Admissions

Hours: Flexible hours, summer weekly availability as well as occasional Admission events
Description:

Do you have an outgoing personality and do well with public speaking? If so, come join our ambassador team in Admissions!

Job responsiblities would include:

Serve as a positive representative of Thomas More University while fostering a welcoming environment with prospective students and their families.

Facilitate and conduct both individual and group campus tours using good communication/speaking skills.

Provide knowledge of the university and acquaint students and their families with the campus, building locations and student services.

Assist the Admissions staff with various office duties including mailings and telephone calls.

Work required Admission events including Preview Days, Counselor Luncheon, and Saints Nights.

Hours are flexible.  We will have openings for hours Monday through Friday including during the summer, perfect for someone who is local and can commute.


Work Study, Physics Lab

An undergraduate student is needed to set up laboratory equipment, take down labs, and organize lab materials.


Work Study, Observatory Assistant

Student Observatory Assistant to help with astronomy public lecture series events and other events at the Thomas More Observatory.


Graduate Assistant

Institutional Advancement

Description:

Thomas More University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Institutional Advancement to support alumni and donor engagement through strategic communication initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in nonprofit and higher education communications, digital marketing, and fundraising efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing a strategic communication plan to support alumni and donor engagement goals.
  • Write, edit, and manage content for print, digital platforms, and University web pages.
  • Support marketing strategies for fundraising, donor stewardship, and alumni outreach through various channels, including email, social media, and direct mail.
  • Collaborate with University departments and external partners to ensure brand consistency.
  • Maintain and update the Institutional Advancement communications calendar while tracking engagement metrics.
  • Assist with digital communications supporting fundraising campaigns and donor relations.
  • Perform additional duties and short-term projects as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

Ideal Candidate:
An energetic, detail-oriented graduate student with strong writing and digital communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for nonprofit and higher education advancement.

 


Graduate Assistant for Residence Life

: 20 per week
Description:

The Graduate Assistant for Residence Life is a live-on campus position that supports the Housing & Residence Life team in fostering a vibrant residential community at Thomas More University. This role involves co-directing and advising Resident Advisors (RAs), assisting with training and recruitment, and participating in the professional staff on-call rotation. The Graduate Assistant contributes to student engagement, leadership development, and retention efforts while supporting the daily operations of the residence halls.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work up to 20 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours during student move-in/out periods.
  • Plan, lead, and attend RA trainings.
  • Support RA recruitment, interviews, and hiring.
  • Prepare materials (schedules, handouts, presentations) for meetings and training.
  • Assist with administrative reports, records, and evaluations.
  • Attend RA meetings and meet regularly with the direct supervisor.
  • Participate in Fall & Spring move-in/out and Housing & Residence Life events (e.g., health & safety checks, residence hall walk-throughs).
  • Educate students on institutional policies and refer them to appropriate resources.
  • Serve in the Housing & Residence Life on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and some holiday breaks.
  • Provide post-incident referrals and follow-ups as needed.
  • Submit and monitor maintenance and work order requests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Student Affairs and the university’s strategic plan.

A graduate student with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, who is passionate about student engagement, residential life, and community development.
