Course Description:
This special topics graduate course explores how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, wearable health devices, mobile health applications, predictive analytics, and telemedicine are reshaping public health practice, policy, and access. Through weekly TED Talks, scholarly readings, structured discussions, and a major capstone presentation, students will critically evaluate the benefits, challenges, and ethical implications of digital innovation in health promotion, disease prevention, and care delivery.Students will develop research and communication skills as they investigate a public health issue of their choice, culminating in a research paper and a 14-slide PowerPoint presentation suitable for stakeholder or policymaker audiences. The course is ideal for students preparing for leadership roles in healthcare, public health, health policy, or technology-enhanced service delivery.
