On May 3, 2026, at approximately 1035 hours, public safety officers were alerted to a fire alarm activation in Ackerman Hall. Public safety officers responded and learned the cause of the alarm was smoke head activation in a mechanical room located on the third floor. Public safety officers responded and found no smoke, fire, other hazardous conditions. The alarm was determined to be a false activation. Edgewood Fire Department arrived on-scene and deemed the alarm a false alarm. The fire alarm system was reset, and residents were permitted to return to their rooms.
