On October 17, 2025, at approximately 1855 hours, Public Safety Officers were alerted to a person having a medical issue outside Griffin Plaza. Upon arrival, Public Safety officers located a youth child who bystanders reported had been choking. Public Safety Officers conducted an assessment and summoned Edgewood Fire/EMS to respond as a precaution. Public Safety Officers noted the youth child was no longer choking and was talking and breathing at a normal rate. Edgewood Fire/EMS arrived and conducted a patient assessment. The guardian of the child elected not to have Edgewood Fire/EMS transport the child to an area hospital for further evaluation.
