On October 24, 2025, at 0911 hours, the Department of Public Safety was notified of a fire alarm activation in Murphy Hall. Public Safety officers, along with Edgewood Fire Department responded to Murphy Hall to investigate. The cause of the alarm was a smoke detector activation in the mechanical room. Public Safety officers investigated and determined the alarm was false. Due to this being a repeat alarm, the Edgewood Fire Department was disregarded and did not respond to the scene.
