Position Overview:
The Department of Health Sciences invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. This is a tenure-track faculty role aimed at supporting the department's growth and the development of new programs. The successful candidate will teach and contribute to curriculum development in areas such as kinesiology, exercise physiology, sports nutrition, and biomechanics.

This position also offers the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary research, community partnerships, and student mentoring while supporting the mission of Thomas More University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach foundational and advanced courses in exercise science.
  • Mentor and advise students academically and professionally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new undergraduate and graduate programs, including concentrations in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, and Human Factors Ergonomics.
  • Conduct and publish research, involving students in collaborative opportunities.
  • Assist in program accreditation and assessment efforts.
  • Contribute to faculty hiring and departmental planning.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Exercise Science or a closely related field from an accredited university.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovative education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to teach diverse learners using various modalities (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, online).
  • Preferred: C.S.C.S. certification and potential to secure external funding for research.
