Thomas More University, located in beautiful Crestview Hills, Kentucky, is seeking an individual possessing a combination of strategic communication skills, relationship building, and attention to detail to be an on-site Communications Specialist supporting our department of Communications and Institutional Advancement.

The Communication Specialist supports Thomas More University’s Division of Marketing & Communication by managing and enhancing the university’s online presence through strategic social media, website, and digital marketing efforts. This role is integral in presenting a cohesive and engaging brand narrative to various audiences, including students, alumni, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Management: Oversee all University-sponsored social media outlets, ensuring consistent and relevant messaging. Promote campus events, measure social media influence, partner with departments to align messaging, and prepare usage reports.
  • Digital Content Oversight: Regularly monitor and update the University’s main website (www.thomasmore.edu) and related digital platforms, including the Moreover blog, to maintain a strong online presence.
  • Collaborative Content Creation: Assist with graphic design, photography, video production/editing, copywriting, and branding as directed by the Director of Communications & Public Relations and Executive Director of Communication & Creative Services.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the contact for internal and external partners, supporting social media use in digital marketing, lead generation, and ensuring adherence to Thomas More University’s brand standards.
  • Additional Duties: Provide support on priority projects as assigned by the Office of the President and Division of Marketing & Communication.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in communication, graphic design, and/or digital marketing with demonstrated results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with clients and co-workers, ensuring high-quality, error-free project outcomes
  • Strong writing and communication skills to effectively convey messages and uphold brand standards
