Basic Purpose

The Sports Information Director is responsible for management of all facets of the sports information office including, but not limited to: serving the primary media contact for all 28 sports and band of Thomas More’s athletic department. This position also maintains, develops, and coordinates the Thomas More Athletic Department website and the production of department publications.

 Principal Duties & Activities

  • Serve as the primary media contact for all 28 of Thomas More’s athletic teams and band.
  • Produce game notes.
  • Cumulative statistics.
  • Produce pre-game and post-game releases and publicity materials.
  • Compile game/event statistics.
  • Planning and coordinating interviews of student-athletes and coaches by media.
  • Creating game programs.
  • Manage the department’s social media guides.
  • Maintain the Thomas More Athletic Department website.
  • Participate in Athletic Department staff meetings, functions and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

 

Education, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements

 Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters preferred.

  • Knowledge of website maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the StatCrew Statistical software package.
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing and Photoshop.
