Purpose: The purpose of this job is to assist the Department of Student Affairs by serving as the primary administrative assistant for residence life, supervisor for Resident Assistants, and Student Affairs contact for diverse students on campus. The GA provides leadership for the Residential Life student staff in an assigned area by maintaining visibility and being approachable to student staff and residents.

Principal Duties & Activities
Residence Life- 50%
- Select, train & supervise Resident Assistants
- Organize and facilitate RAs meetings
- Assist the Director of Residential Life with design and facilitation of Fall and Winter RA Trainings
- Review and evaluate RA programs, including program proposals and evaluations with the Mentor RAs
- Assist with the recruitment of Resident Assistants each Spring
- Assist supervisor in monitoring facilities and maintenance issues within assigned buildings
- Assist the Director of Residential Life of Students in meeting with students regarding conduct
- Maintain records for Housing Verification
- Handle all student meal plan changes
- Assist with Move-In-Day, Check-In, and Check-Out for each semester.
- Coordinate Micro-Fridge program and Care Package program for residence hall students.
- Work closely with Athletics and Enrollment Management to coordinate supervision for overnight recruitment opportunities.
- Perform other related duties that assist in advancing the mission, vision, values, and goals of the office and the Department of Student Affairs.
- Serve as a part of the on-duty rotation 4 weekend nights a month
Diversity/Inclusion-50%
- Serve as a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Staff Committee
- Create and lead a peer-mentor program for underrepresented students
- Advise one student organization geared towards the needs of underrepresented students (i.e.-Black Student Union, Diversity and Inclusion Club, International Student Club, etc.)
- Work with the Director of Student Engagement and Leadership to ensure that student organizations/clubs are hosting diverse programs
- Develop Residence Life diversity programs and workshops
- Assist with the facilitation of the FYE Diversity workshop as well as any diversity initiatives during New Student Orientation
- Assist students with any campus efforts of diversity
- Serve as an advocate and resources for underrepresented students
Education, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements
- Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office package, along with good understanding of Social Media outlets
- Working on a Master’s Degree program at Thomas More University
