Position/Rank
Thomas More University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Accountancy in the Department of Business Administration. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about teaching, committed to student success, and dedicated to contributing to the university's scholarly mission. This is a non-tenure track position, with the potential for tenure-track consideration depending on qualifications and performance.
Responsibilities
- Teach and advise undergraduate students in accounting, developing engaging curriculum plans that foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and encourage active student participation.
- Design courses that integrate diversity, scholarship, current industry trends, and community service, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience.
- Tailor teaching and advising assignments based on departmental needs and individual expertise, with adjustments made annually as required.
- Conduct and publish original research in peer-reviewed journals and other professional outlets, contributing to the advancement of the field.
- Provide academic advising to undergraduate students, supporting their academic and professional development.
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees, and actively participate in service activities that support the mission and values of Thomas More University.

All faculty members should be current on topics and practices related to the discipline.
Qualifications
- Preferred Education: A Ph.D. in Accountancy or a related field is highly desirable, along with extensive industry experience. Candidates with an accounting-related professional designation, such as a CPA, will also be considered. Teaching experience is strongly preferred, particularly in a post-secondary education environment. Familiarity with online teaching platforms and related tools is a significant advantage.

- Effective Communication Skills: Candidates must possess exceptional communication skills in both oral and written formats, along with the ability to thrive in a team-based environment.

- Technological Proficiency: Applicants should have up-to-date skills and familiarity with technology and learning management systems to support modern teaching methodologies.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship from the University under the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
