Mike Young, baritone, was born and raised in Cortland, OH and currently resides in Cincinnati, OH. Mike is a dedicated educator and an avid performer. Operatic credits include Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Scarpia (Tosca), Marcello (La Bohème), George Milton (Of Mice and Men), Alberich (Siegfried), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), and The Prosecutor (Another Brick in the Wall - U.S. Premiere).
Concert credits include baritone solos in Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Handel’s Messiah and Israel in Egypt, and the titular role of Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Mike is also a member of Collegium Cincinnati, Coro Volante, The Athenaeum of Ohio Chorale, a soloist/section leader at Knox Prebyterian Church, and a principal artist with The Bach Ensemble at St. Thomas.
Mike is on faculty at Xavier University and Thomas More University in Cincinnati, OH and Crestview Hills, KY, respectively, and maintains an active private teaching studio.
