Professor Gregory L. Mazza joined Thomas More University in the fall of 2021 from Xavier University. At Xavier he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accountancy, along with beginning his teaching career. As chair and assistant professor of the Department of Accountancy at Thomas More, he specializes in teaching taxation, fundamental financial accounting principles, and fundamental managerial accounting principles. Mazza's professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) comes from KPMG by way of PricewaterhouseCoopers in both Chicago and Cincinnati, where he specialized in personal and corporate income tax, corporation spin-offs, executive compensation, and corporate governance consulting. Mazza's penchant for financial reporting, and eye for digestible delivery of complex accounting and tax concepts while teaching has proven to serve well for his students. Ever the optimist, he has the natural instinct to inspire and sees every interaction with students and colleagues as an opportunity to place them in the best light for success academically, professionally, and personally. He enjoys spending his spare time with his family and friends, playing golf, and staying active. Lastly, since joining Thomas More, he has thoroughly enjoyed his teaching subject matter, and engaging collaboratively with the entire University's community of students, faculty, and staff.
