Julie Daoud received her Ph.D. and M.A. in English Literature from The University of Cincinnati. Her research is in 19th Century British Literature and Post-Colonial Studies. Recently, she received a grant from the U.S. Department of State to participate in a seminar “Islam and Middle Eastern Culture” in Amman, Jordan. She continues to travel in the Middle East and recently developed a course featuring contemporary Middle Eastern writers. She teaches several courses in British and World literatures. Aside from her work developing her courses, she is interested in cultural studies, art history, and organic living. In addition to her teaching and research, she is the Director of the TMC Writing & ESL Center and the faculty advisor to the TMC chapter of Amnesty International.
