Before coming to Thomas More in 2003, Mitchell worked on the audit staff of the international accounting firm KPMG and for a global industrial products company where she was responsible for financial reporting and served on teams that worked on cost management projects and acquisitions and divestitures. She had also been an adjunct instructor at Xavier University and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.
At Thomas More, she teaches Cost Accounting I & II, Introductory Accounting I, and advanced accounting topics in Accounting Seminar I & II. She also teaches the Survey of Accounting class in the graduate and accelerated programs; and has taught other courses, including a joint class with a professor from the Sociology/Criminal Justice Department that studied the mission and management of nonprofit organizations.
