- Introduction

The University employee policies are intended to serve as a guide to help all employees understand the personnel policies of Thomas More University. While it is not possible to put everything into writing, we anticipate that these policies will provide you with general information.  

The University retains the right to make decisions involving policies and procedures as needed in order to conduct its work in a manner that is beneficial to the employees, students, and University.  Due to changing business conditions, any stated policy and procedure set forth below is subject to change at any time. 

All University officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, agents, and other third-parties who act on behalf of Thomas More University are guided by the mission and values of Thomas More University and are expected to be familiar with and abide by the University’s policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, those set forth below; and all those with authority to do so have a duty to administer these policies fairly and consistently and to enforce them when necessary.  If you have questions, please see your Supervisor or the Director of Human Resources for clarification or explanation.

All University officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, agents, and other third-parties who act on behalf of Thomas More University are expected to seek clarification on a Policy or other University directive he or she finds to be unclear, outdated or at odds with the University’s mission or values.  It is not acceptable to ignore or disobey policies if one is not in agreement with them, or to avoid compliance by deliberately seeking loopholes.

The employee policies set forth are provided for information purposes only.  The publication of these policies does not in any way create, nor should it be construed to create, a contract with Thomas More University.  Unless you have a written contract, you are an employee at-will and can be terminated at any time and for any reason.  Likewise, you may terminate your employment at any time and for any reason.

The policies set forth supersede any previous employee or staff manuals.  Thomas More University reserves the right to amend or alter these policies at any time without prior notice.
