Course Description:

This course is intended to serve as an undergraduate-level introduction to community health practice, including the latest trends and statistics in community health, the organization of public health system, health advocacy, and delivery of community health services. Core topics will include epidemiology, community organization, program planning, minority health, health care, mental health, environmental health, drugs, safety, and occupational health. Emphasis will be on developing the basic knowledge and skills necessary for a career in community or school health education. The course will serve as a basis for the necessary Health Education Content Knowledge.
