MAT 123A Details
3 Credit Hours
Course Description:
This is a course in combinatorial game theory. It satisfies the TMU core math requirement, and it requires no special mathematics skills beyond the high school level. It will require persistence, an interest in following the project through, and a willingness to work in teams. The course will involve finding winning solutions to unsolved games. Students will work in teams; some members of the team will be students at Montgomery College, Maryland. A subset of students, possibly all, will be granted travel money to present their results at a mathematics meeting. A primary goal is to make the mathematics fun.
