Course Description:

Prerequisites (must be completed prior): LAW105 or HIS101/HIS102 and LAW200+ or LAW300+ or HIS200+ or HIS300+ The course offers an introduction to historical and theoretical scholarship on modern international law, spanning from the sixteenth-century Spanish empire to twenty-first century Chinese empire. The course is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing on insights and theories from the disciplines of law, history, political economy, political science. It is designed to provide students with different ways of reading and studying international law, enabling students to develop their own critical approach to the field.
