Course Description:

This course provides students with an opportunity to explore storytelling across the everyday moments of life and to develop these stories into compelling narratives for multiple platforms. After all, storytelling is an artform that has immeasurable currency in today’s world: storytelling builds connection, fosters dialogue, and enhances the work of professionals across career pathways. Students enrolled in this workshop-based course will learn about key storytelling components and how to incorporate these components into various narrative formats. By the end of the course, students will have proficiency in the craft of storytelling as well as a variety of tools for developing and editing future stories. Ultimately, the course offers students an opportunity to understand themselves as young artists in critical dialogue with each other and the communities for whom they write.
