Course Description:
Concurrent Requisite: CHE 220 or 220L/CHE 240 for 240L. A two-course sequence covering the common techniques for isolating and purifying organic compounds, the use of spectroscopic, and chemical techniques for characterizing these substances, and examples of syntheses involving a variety of functional groups. Particular attention will be given to chromatographic and spectroscopic analysis.
