Course Description:

Prerequisite: BIO 311/311L This course takes a project-based approach to learning, and focuses on a relevant, current research topic or problem in marine biology ? particularly within the realms of conservations biology and husbandry. To successfully pass this course, students are expected to complete a capstone project revolving around solutions for this current topic. These projects can take the form of any of the following: educational lesson plan, husbandry standard operating procedure, presentation of original research results, or a grant proposal. Topics covered in this course include background research into the current issue, survey of the research methodology employed in the study of this topic, and tolls to complete their capstone project.
